What will the full bill look like?

A headline price is the start of the cost conversation. Ask what it covers and what the next payment will be.

What will this actually cost me?

Ask for a written quote for the exact medicine and the care around it. Ask for the ongoing cost as well as the first payment.

List price is the maker’s published price. Cash price means paying outside insurance. An insured payment is the amount your plan leaves for you to pay.

The prices checked in September 2026 showed that these amounts could differ for the same medicine.

What is a real cash-price example?

The government cash-price listing showed semaglutide (Wegovy tablets) starting at $149 per month in September 2026.

That starting figure covered the lowest strength; it was not the price for every strength.

The government product page listed an opening offer for semaglutide (Wegovy injection) in September 2026: each of the first two one-month supplies cost $199.

This offer was for new patients receiving the lowest strengths. Each of those two orders supplied one month of medicine.

After those two supplies, the price was $349 per month for the standard injection. The high-strength product cost more.

These are examples of specific offers. They do not quote the cost of your own care. Ask what the exact product costs once any opening offer ends.

What can sit beside the medicine bill?

As of September 2026, some services charged a monthly membership or visit fee separately from the medicine cost.

Ask whether tests, delivery, and messages between visits are included. Ask what is billed again, and what a longer commitment changes.

Use the same headings in each quote so you can compare the full bill.

Could the price change later?

In the September 2026 check, many cash offers and savings-card terms had December 31, 2026, as their planned end date.

An offer end date is a reason to ask for fresh terms. It does not tell you the next price.
